[f_minor] Can this be right?

As British film and radio documentarist Piers Plowright pointed out in an international panel discussion here in Ottawa a few years ago, GG never quite gained a following in the UK as he did elsewhere.  His critics are legion there, and the somewhat mocking and dismissive tone of this review is fairly typical.  One wonders if there isn't a hint of indignation at the very proposition that a consummate artist might have emerged from one of the "colonies."  That said, those of us who love Gould's work need to be careful not to expect hagiographies from everyone who writes about him.
