<DIV>Hello All!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Paul Rockett, photographer of many and of Glenn Gould - passed away at
90.</DIV>

<DIV>"Rockett is best known today for his series of Glenn Gould portraits, one
of which was chosen by Canada Post for a limited edition series of commemorative
envelopes. The photos are on display in the National Gallery in Ottawa.</DIV>
<DIV>Rockett once told his wife Eve that he was Gould's favourite
photographer–not because of his pictures, but because he didn't try to talk
music with the Canadian pianist. Rockett once told his wife Eve that he was

<DIV>Mary - on GG's "weird ear". He had attached earlobes (an
inherited trait); the extension of his right ear must have enhanced his
reception, and perhaps, his perception of sound (acting like a radio
receiver). </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Stefy - it is interesting that GG, in his last interview with Tim Page, and
in other interviews that one can glean from the films, mentions "technological"
gadgets - like the pocket calculator, stop watch - use of the word digital,
seen with his tape recorder, scene in the radio production studio with Lorne and
the mixer... using technology to create his ideal interpretation of what he was
hearing in the music.</DIV>
